The third early draft specification for JAX-RPC 2.0 is available from java.net. This specification incorporates plans for much greater JAXB integration, standardized metadata for Java to WSDL mappings, SOAP 1.2 and WSDL 1.2 support, usage of 1.5's annotations, better exception handling, non-HTTP transports, asynchronous RPC, and more.

As this still an early draft, it's a good time to make sure your feedback is heard. Send feedback to the expert group at jsr-224-comments at jcp dot org.
I'm extremely glad that the JAXB integration is coming along. I'n my project I'm using SAAJ to parse SOAP requests. All datatypes in my project are generated from an XML Schema. The same schema is imported into the <types> section of the WSDL description of my service endpoint, in addition to the definition of the message elements.
Is it possible to let JAXB generate classes for the message elements, but make use of the already generated classes for the imported datatype schema?
