EJB design: EJB Location Transparency

  1. EJB Location Transparency (1 messages)

    Hi,

We are in the process of converting our servlet based solutions to EJB/Container solutions. One of the requirement is to create and deploy a service as a J2EE application to a dedicated instance of an appserver container and have other sites remotely access the service. I am working on the analysis phase. I would like to confirm that this is possible. I understand the location transparency that is offerred by EJB and you can lookup and invoke a business object on an EJB irrespective of whether you are in teh same or different JVM, whether you are in the same or different location. But I just needed to confirm this point before moving forward.

    Please help!

    Thanks

    Shital,
Yes that is the way it is done. The only difference is in the JNDI lookup for the EJB Homes.
