Hi,
there are a free Tomcat 5 server with MySQL and FTP on http://tomcat.portaljava.com:8081/
It is on Beta phase and may be out a lot of time.
A guess that it will be a stable server in the next two months. -

I reccomend to setup an own Server in your office or home, which is connected via dsl- or cable-flatrate to the internet.
If you use a router which supports e.g. dynDns.org your server can be reached via a url like a server which is placed in a data center.
I am sure an own server with a dsl connection should be able to handle at least the traffic a free server can do, with the advantage you are the root-admin.
Best regards,
Tobias -

Myjavaserver still excepts new users. you can try out eatj.com. eatj gives u more control but you will have to restart your server every few hours. jyog.com -

Looks like a spam at least ads.
You need to remove the market ad id.
But in general hosting looks good.

Hi,
Lately I have been looking into and playing around with the Google App Engine. In this post I want to give a little introduction to the Google App Engine, why it can be interesting and how to work with it.
First I want to describe what the Google App Engine is in a few sentences. But nobody does a better job at explaining than Wikipedia so I'll just give you a quote instead
Google App Engine is a platform for developing and hosting web applications in Google-managed data centers. It was first released as a beta version in April 2008.
Google App Engine is cloud computing technology. It virtualizes applications across multiple servers and data centers. Other cloud-based platforms include offerings such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft's Azure Services Platform.
Google App Engine is free up to a certain level of used resources. Fees are charged for additional storage, bandwidth, or CPU cycles required by the application. Why use the Google App Engine?
Next to the fact that Google App Engine is free to use, what else is interesting about it, you ask? Well, let me tell you! Actually, Google App Engine offers you a lot of features which can help your application in different ways. Below are a few examples of features I find the most helpful.
Thanks!!!
