EJB design: storing java objects inside a database

    I have to store a java object inside a database using weblogic ejb and the table in the database has a field blob how can i do it

  2. Hi,
    If u need to store the java objects in database, then go for object oriented database(OODBMS). RDBMS can not hold objects, theoretically atleast.

    U can also use entity beans, which is a nice & cleaner approach to storing data in rdbms, than using BLOB data type, which may not be available in all rdbms implementations( chances are rare though for all latest rdbms)

    reading from blob data type is a bit tricky & not suitable for normal applications.
