Okay, it doesn't get much more lighthearted than this.
At TSSJS 2011, James Gosling was doing his opening keynote when the Evil Tyrant Owner of the JavaRanch, Paul Wheaton, yelled something at Gosling that got him going off on a tangent about British Columbia, his uncle, Tugboats, and COBOL programmers retiring to the shores of Bora Bora.
Anyways, it's a fun listen, very much 'vintage Gosling,' demonstrating his penache for being able to produce a story on just about any topic thrown at him. There's probably no redeemable insight into ServerSide Java or Enterprise computing, but it is an interesting listen. The transcript of what he says also accompanies the audio. Check it out:
