Induction MVC framework 1.2.0b, major new release
Acciente is excited and proud to announce release 1.2.0b of the Induction MVC framework. This release has been several months in the making and adds major new features.
What is Induction?
Induction is a high performance, request-based MVC web application framework for Java supporting dynamic application reloading, type-based dependency injection, dependency analysis between models, views and controllers (using any popular IDE) and an extensible architecture. Induction is possibly the only request-based Java MVC web framework that supports full dependency analysis between models, view and controllers. Induction is free, open-source and commercial friendly, released under the Apache License 2.0.
What is new in 1.2.0b?
* Supports direct mapping of URLs to views (previously views could only be activated by controllers). This is a completely new subsystem which means there is now a new view resolver in addition to the already existing controller and redirect resolvers.
* Powerful clean URL support via new regex-driven resolvers. The new resolvers "auto-discover" controllers and views by scanning the classpath. The new resolvers can, for example, map the URL path /login.action to a class named myapp.security.LoginController. The pattern for the URLs and class names are configured using regexes.
* Support for controllers to return a view type in addition to the previous support for returning a view instance. If a view type is returned (for example: return OrderView.class), Induction will instantiate the view type (with dependency injection on the view constructor parameters) and process it.
* New <include-config ...> directive in the Induction configuration XML to provide flexibility in organizing configuration data in multiple files for larger applications.
* New <init-on-startup ...> directive to support initializing application scope models on startup.
* Enhancements to expand access to system level objects (such as the templating engine and classloader) in controllers and views for use by specialized applications.
