How to download and install UiPath Studio
Interested in learning robotic process automation (RPA)? Or perhaps you’re seeking UiPath Associate certification?
Regardless of your motivation, if you want to get up to speed with UiPath, you’ll need to download and install UiPath Studio. It’s the foundation of the RPA giant’s low-code development platform.

You won’t find a link to download UiPath Studio on the public site. You must first register for a UiPath account, after which you can log into the UiPath Automation Hub and get a link to download Uipath Studio.
UiPath Studio Community vs Enterprise
In terms of development capabilities, all UiPath Studio versions are the same. However, there are a few, less obvious differences between the UiPath Studio Community and Enterprise editions. I’ve outlined them below.
- There is no trial needed for UiPath Studio CE. It is always free.
- UiPath Studio Enterprise has a 60 day trial, but after that must be licensed for a fee.
- You are forced to always upgrade to the latest UiPath Studio release with the Community Edition. Upgrades are not required on the Enterprise Edition.
After the UiPath Studio executable completes its download, follow the installation wizard. This simply connects to the UiPath Cloud with your credentials and then asks if you wish to install UiPath Studio Pro, UiPath Studio, or UiPath StudioX. To simply learn UiPath Studio or study for the UiPath Associate Certification exam, choose the non-pro UiPath Studio option.
Note that the latest Associate exam update will usually be geared towards a slightly older version of UiPath Studio, which may no longer be available with a community license. Fortunately, the latest community version won’t be too different from the exam version and this shouldn’t have a negative impact on your studies. However, if you are persnickety about using the exam version, register for a trial enterprise license and download an older UiPath Studio version before the 60 day trial expires.
When the installation completes, create a new process and develop a simple UiPath Hello World program. When the RPA app compiles and runs, you can be confident that you have downloaded and installed UiPath Studio successfully.
