XML & Web services: JAXB and JDO

  1. JAXB and JDO (2 messages)

    Hi Folks,

Does anyone know if it is possible to use JDO to persist JAXB classes. My goal is to be able to create a schema and then load documents from that schema into a DB without writing any XML or persistence code. Has anyone ever tried this? If so could you let me know if it works and what the pitfalls are if any. Otherwise I will try it myself.

    Hi Ed,

I had the same problem, and found 2 approaches:

    - An article called "The Perfect Database Round-Trip Using JAXB And JDO"
      (get it from here

    - Use XDoclet (jdoDoclet), to generate your JDO-Resources.
If you want to use this, you have to create a binding declaration
with <javadoc>-Tags, and add some @jdo... comments to the generated
  3. JDO XML PM[ Go to top ]

LiDO includes now an XML PersistenceManager: you describe the XML to Java mapping, and just run it. You can create a Java object from the XML PM, and make it persistent into a RDBMS PM. Great feature for import/export.
