I am pleased to announce the 1.0.0-M1 release of OpenWebBeans. OpenWebBeans will be an ASL-licensed implementation of the Web Beans Specification which is defined as JSR-299. This M1 release contains the parts of the specification that enables the developers to start and see functional aspects of the JSR-299. Please look at the README file contained in the distribution for further informations. In addition to the implementation of the specification, the project aims to create a new set of WebBeans components exposing functionality of other Apache Foundation projects. Feel free to ask any questions about the OpenWebBeans and M1-Release via our user forums. Gurkan, Let me be the first to congratulate you on TSS. It is very encouraging to see a strong development effort by Apache given the long history of success and leadership in open source. I was somewhat dissapointed to hear Bob Lee/Google is no longer contributing to WebBeans in favor of the Guice 2 effort. I think an offering from Google in addition to Red Hat/JBoss, Caucho, etc would have been fantastic. Good job and good luck again, Reza ----------------------- Independent Consultant Author, EJB 3 in Action Expert Group Member, Java EE 6 and EJB 3.1 -

Thanks a lot Gavin. Without you, it would be impossible to implement this specification :) Cheers; Gurkan Erdogdu
